February 2020

Monthly Theme: All the Colors of Love

2/2/2020                     For the Love of God

“Love is the self-givingness of the Spirit through the desire of Life to express Itself in terms of creation.  Emerson tells us that Love is a synonym for God.  We are also told in the New Testament that “He that loveth not, knoweth not God; for God is love.” Love is free from condemnation, even as it is free from fear.  Love is a cosmic force whose sweep is irresistible.”  - Ernest Holmes - p. 608 in SOM textbook.

2/9/2020                     The Power of Radical Self-Love

“Concepts like self-acceptance and body neutrality are not without value. When you have spent your entire life at war with your body, these models offer a truce. But you can have more than a cease-fire. You can have radical self-love because you are already radical self-love.”   ― Sonya Renee Taylor

2/16/2020                  Sacred Self

“God has imparted our life to us, placing no limitation or condition that would restrict us, other than this:  Our life must be lived constructively, in unity and love and sympathy with everything around us; if we expect to live it to the fullest.  I believe that every person is born to be creative and to live to the fullest and to be happy and glad and prosperous and whole.” Ernest Holmes (365 Science of Mind p. 53.2)

2/23/2020                  Relationships: Spiritual Paths to Awakening

“The mirror is simply something that reflects.  You cannot scratch the reflection out of the mirror, but you can change the image in front of it.  And you are the image-maker. So, let us create new images which will reflect new patterns.  And we must be definite in our conviction and deliberate in our aim if we expect happy results, for theories are no good unless they are applied.” - Ernest Holmes, Living the Science of Mind, p. 157.3
